The frieze comes from the Ducal Palace in Revere (Mantua) and consists of three distinct parts: in the centre, four winged putti hold the Gonzaga coat of arms, from which fluttering ribbons depart. On the sides there are two panels each bearing two profile heads. The enterprises of the torso with the turtledove, the hydra and the sun are depicted on the helmet of the right profile, while the motto AMUMOC, which accompanies the enterprise of the rock, appears on the pendant parts of the headdress of the female head on the left.
